A woman performs a puppet show for children in a bookstore or library, with shelves of books behind her and a group of children sitting and watching on the floor.

As a mom of three boys, I found endless inspiration in the questions, adventures, creativity, and sometimes wonderfully unpredictable moments that come with raising boys. Their curiosity reminded me why I fell in love with teaching in the first place.

Writing became my way to reconnect with that part of myself.

Through my books, I hope to create stories that do more than entertain. I want children to feel curious, encouraged, and excited to turn the page. Whether a story inspires a child to ask a new question, see the world a little differently, or simply get lost in their imagination for a while, she believes every story can be an opportunity to learn and grow.

My books are inspired by my experience as a teacher, a mother, and someone who still believes that childhood should be filled with wonder, discovery, laughter, and lots of questions.

Today, I get to combine two of the things I loves most, teaching and storytelling.

Because while I may have left the classroom, I never really stopped being a teacher. I simply found a new way to teach: one story at a time.

Hi, I’m Haleigh Elizabeth!

Long before I became a children’s book author, I was a teacher.

I loved the classroom, not just for the lessons, but for the questions, the curiosity, the laughter, and those magical moments when a child suddenly gets it. Teaching gave me the opportunity to inspire young minds every day, and it became a part of who she was.

When I eventually stepped away from the classroom, I discovered something unexpected: I missed it. I missed teaching. I missed connecting with children. I missed watching their imaginations take off and being part of their journey of discovery.

But life had given me another classroom of sorts: my own home.
